EPU Clamp‑On Ultrasonic Flowmeters operate by transmitting ultrasonic pulse waves through the external probe and into the liquid flowing inside the pipe. As the ultrasonic pulses travel through the liquid, the movement of the fluid causes a slight change in the time it takes for the waves to propagate. This time difference—known as the transit‑time variation—is directly proportional to the flow velocity of the liquid. By analyzing this change, the flowmeter accurately calculates the liquid’s flow rate without requiring any pipe cutting or direct contact with the medium.
